Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red is an art installation in the moat of the Tower of London, commemorating the centenary of the start of World War I.
At the start of October I was staying near the Tower of London so I would walk by every day and see the volunteers adding more poppies. I returned to London at the start of November to see the moat filled with poppies – 888,246 of them – which represent the estimated number of British and Colonial military deaths in World War I.
The poppies will remain until 11 November, 2014, where they will available to the public to buy.
